IHM Chennai has done extremely well in all aspects and is one of the finest institutes in the country today. The institute has been striving for excellence and making steady progress with continuous efforts to carry forward the proud tradition of excellence in all aspects of Hospitality Education.

The first batch of students were inducted into the three year diploma in 1963. The foundation of a great institution had been laid. The journey has been continuing, producing many of the finest professionals in the planet over the years. The institute was declared Self Supporting by the competent authority.

Our contribution to the success of hospitality education from inception has been recognised by the Industry, State, Central Governments, and other allied agencies.

 While entering the 60th year of existence, IHM Chennai is proud to have groomed thousands of fresh hands into able professionals and not just for the hospitality sector, also for varied allied industries.

Our students have held the IHM Chennai flag high across the world. A testimonial to the high standards of hospitality education is being maintained by IHM Chennai.

We have had the good opportunity to connect with thousands of our Alumni availing on line platforms to strengthen the bond between them and alma mater. Many thanks to IHM Chennai Alumni Association members for their tireless initiatives and efforts.

I wish the institute success in its future endeavours and pray for many more years of togetherness, outstanding service to the hospitality sector in particular, and to the nation in general.
